Hi, everyone, today's the last post. I will end this blog talking about a person I admire a lot, I hope you like it!
Jorge Neira, better known as Roth Azulik, is an Argentine architect who works in different fields, such as art, gastronomy, architecture, etc., all related through sustainability, which is a fundamental characteristic in Roth's work. While sustainability has taken hold in recent decades, he applies it in a unique way that respects the environment and the diverse cultures that coexist in a space. Roth is a great contribution to humanity, the environment and the preservation of culture. As an architect, he is dedicated to constructing buildings that respect and preserve the identity of the place, in order to live in harmony with our surroundings, with the plants, animals and other human communities.
One of the most outstanding works of Roth Azulik is the Azulik Hotel, an impressive construction located in Uh May, Quintana Roo, in the middle of the Mexican jungle. He built this amazing work of architecture incorporating every tree there is without having to destroy, rather, respecting and working harmoniously with what the environment provides, so as to be in resonance with nature, living and learning from its wisdom.
Preserving an ecological system, of which native communities have practiced for thousands of years, is fundamental to maintaining human life on earth, so it is necessary for the occidental world to make an urgent paradigm change regarding the way the earth is inhabited.
'...The question is always very similar to the one you ask: how to make nature and architecture coexist? And the answer is: by listening and respecting it; always building in harmony with those who came before, which were the plants and trees'.
